Rep. William K. Boddie Jr.
Rep. William Boddie is a 2022 Democratic Candidate for Georgia Labor Commissioner. Rep. Boddie was first elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in November 2016 and sworn in on January 9, 2017. He serves Georgia House District 62, which encompasses portions of Southern Fulton County and Eastern Douglas County. His Georgia House Democratic Caucus (GHDC) colleagues elected Rep. Boddie to serve as the Minority Whip in November 2018. He was the second-ranking Democrat in the Georgia House of Representatives after serving one-term in the General Assembly. Previously to being elected to the GHDC leadership position, Rep. Boddie was appointed to serve as the Communications Chair of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC) in July 2017.
Rep. Boddie serves on Budget & Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Judiciary Non-Civil, Small Business Development, and Special Committee on Access to the Civil Justice System committees. Rep. Boddie is a member of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus, the Georgia Working Families Caucus, and the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus.

Rep. William Boddie is a graduate of the Mercer University-Walter F. George School of Law in Macon, Georgia. He has been practicing law since November 7, 2005. Rep. Boddie is the Founder of the Law Firm of Boddie & Associates, LLC and practices in Personal Injury and Criminal Defense Law. He has been a proud small business owner since April 15, 2008. Rep. Rep. Boddie is a native of Atlanta and a 1995 Graduate of Banneker High School in College Park, Georgia. He currently resides in East Point, Georgia. Rep. Boddie is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc., and the Georgia NAACP. He is also a proud Democrat and has membership with the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Democratic Party of Georgia (DPG), the Fulton County Democratic Party, the Douglas County Democratic Party, and the South Fulton Democrats.
Rep. Boddie is actively involved in professional organizations, such as the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL), the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA), the Gate City Bar Association, and the Cobb County Bar Association. He is also a member of the South Fulton Chamber of Commerce (SFCOC), the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce, the Douglas County Small Business Society, and the City of Douglasville Housing Committee.
He has served as a faculty member for the Personal Development Academy of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA). Rep. Boddie frequently serves as a guest lecturer and panelist at universities around the state, including Valdosta State University, Morehouse College, Columbus State University, Clark Atlanta University, Savannah State University, University of West Georgia, Albany State University, Middle Georgia State University, Fort Valley State University, and Mercer University.
Rep. Boddie is a featured legal analyst in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Douglas County Sentinel, the Fulton County Daily Report, and Ebony Magazine. He has also been interviewed regarding high-profile cases and developing legal issues by FOX 5 News, 11Alive News, Channel 2 Action News, and DCTV23 in Douglas County. Rep. Boddie serves as a legal commentator and town hall speaker for V-103 and WAOK 1380 radio stations in Atlanta, Georgia.
Rep. Boddie is also a 5th Generation Legacy and Life-Long Member of Antioch Baptist Church, North in Atlanta, Georgia.
